Devils playground is a british gangster/thriller type of movie with danny dyer playing playing an ex – copper and finds himself in the middle of a infectious national disaster where people are turning into flesh eating vampires.
In the not too distant future newgen industries, which are a leading pharmaceutical company in london have produced a new legal performance enhancer the RAK-295. There were 30,000 people that volunteered to be test subjects as it wa certain that there was no risk. After the initial testing all the 30,000 test subjects begun to have severe physical and ellergic reactions to the drug and it was soon realized that the RAK-295 has ended in spectacular failure.
There was only one person that suffered no allergic reation to the drug was angela mills!!
Angela is pregnant and starts to make arrangements to leave town after seeing the carnage and devastation unfold in the city of london. She arranges to meet a friend at a nearby heliport so that she can safely escape with her unborn child. Angela is the only person not to report any type of reaction to Dr Brooke (head of Newgen) and realizes that angela may hold the only key to solving this disaster and finding a cure. He enlists cole to who is head of security to bring her in for examination.
Cole who is a hardened ex-mercenary and in charge of newgens security the same day hands in his resignation to peter white who is the CEO of the company. Cole has had enough of the off the record murderous jobs that he is required to complete just to solve some of the companies problems.
One of the test subjects is being held in a newgen lab and a violent outbreak occurs in which the male test subject becomes enraged and kills several members of the lab before cole steps in and finally puts an end to the massacre. It is soon realized that the drug has far more dangerous consequences than was first thought. The drug takes over the persons physiology and mental faculties and causes a highly advanced muscular improvement where that person then becomes faster, stronger and impervious to pain.
Cole now has to escape the city and the massacre to find angela before its too late and she too ends up being a victim of the virus. Cole is running out of time as he too has been bitten… but he has an antidote but only lasts for so long. Will cole end up finding angela? Devils playground is a good movie with plenty of blood and guts, fight scenes and its full of entertainment. Its not a hollywood blockbuster and its certainly not one of my best movies that ive watched how ever its definately worth a watch as its pretty good.
